What is the Timing Belt?
The most important maintenance item in your vehicle is the engine’s Cambelt (also known as a Timing Belt). A Cambelt is often ribbed and is placed in the car’s engine to keep the camshaft and crank timed as it should be. For proper timing, the belt is placed in a very particular arrangement along one side of your engine. Some other engines may have a Timing Chain instead of a belt, but they do the same job.
For the record, the Timing Belt or Chain is designed to keep the bottom half of the engine (pistons and crankcase) in sync with the top half (valves and cylinder head). It is an essential item. So if the Timing Chain or Belt has snapped and is broken, you will definitely know about it. The vehicle will simply not turn over.
If your engine won’t turn over, but aren’t sure if its the Timing Belt or Chain, book in for a diagnostics test. If you know it is the Timing Belt, or Timing Chain, Book now for a Timing Chain or Belt Replacement and we will give you an affordable quote.
For Timing Belts, we use INA parts to ensure your Timing Belt lasts as long as possible, at the most affordable price.
